Day of Hope #5

Monday May 13 – Day of Hope #5

Goal: Pampering my outer goddess makes my inner goddess smile

Quote: “Massage Day is the best day of the week.” - Unknown

I love a good facial and full body massage. I have been getting massages for many years and it just helps me to relax and helps my muscles repair themselves and I feel like I am floating on clouds after. On this day of hope, however, I decided to pull out all the stops and I discovered what an all-day spa package could do and oh my goodness. I booked the all-day package at Two Rivers Spa in Eagle Idaho. I had heard about the spa and had some co-workers that had been there but never indulged in the fancy experience. That day I went all in.

I invited my gal pal Frankie and our package included a honey Hawaiian wrap, hour massage, hour facial, manicure, and pedicure. The honey Hawaiian wrap starts off with a full body salt scrub which exfoliates you completely, then they pour warm honey all over you and wrap you in a sheet and go sit in the steam room so it will soak into your pores. The first time is odd as you don’t know what to expect but it is my absolute favorite wrap to this day. Then you get an amazing one-hour massage after. My skin was so smooth and baby soft afterwards I could not believe it. Then I went in for my one-hour facial which was heaven with all the creams and masks and warm towels. My body and face are so soft and smooth, and I am so relaxed.

That was not the end. Then I had a gel nail manicure which includes a hand massage and then a pedicure with aroma and paraffin wax and massage. My feet felt like I was walking on clouds. I was so relaxed at the end I did not know who I was or what my name was. I had to sit in my car for about 15 minutes before driving home just to really let it all set in. To this day that package is still one of my favorites and when I get the chance, I book it.

My lesson of Hope: Feeling completely relaxed and revived brings me joy. Spa days bring me that total relaxation. Inside joy and outside joy at the same time are hard to find.
