Day of Hope #69
Thursday September 13 – Day of Hope #69
Goal: Relax my mind
Quote: “The time to relax is when you don’t have time for it”. – Sydney J. Harris
Today was one of those rare days where I had to go to work. Luckily, I only had to go in for the morning. We are so busy and there is so much work to do. I am so tired and heading for burn out again but there is hope at least for a half day today.
I left at noon and spent three and a half hours at the Two Rivers Spa. Deep tissue massage, facial and pedicure. It was so relaxing. I love spas and it really helps me relax and forget about the world for a few hours.
I then went home to make a healthy salmon salad and sat in peace and quiet. No one talked to me or asked me questions. I did not have to do anything. Just silence. It was amazing. I watched a few episodes of the T.V. series This is Us. It’s a great show with lots of life lessons and great story lines. Then I decided to treat myself to Dairy Queen and the Heath Blizzard shake. Heath is my favorite flavor and only a few places have it. Afterwards, I had to pick up my son from work. I then went back home to take an hour and a half Epsom salt bath and just relax my mind.
My lesson of hope: I must remember to take time for me if only a few hours one day a month. It is always a good idea.
Bonus - Wine run

Since we did the wine run race back in 2017 my sister and I were really looking forward to doing the race again this year. It was to take place at St. Chapelle Winery. I had four gals driving up from Utah to do the race. It was scheduled for the weekend of September 8th. Everyone was so excited and training hard for the race.
A few weeks before the race we got notification the race was cancelled. I was not giving up and told them to all still drive up and we would figure something out. I let the universe take over and it did not disappoint. Through a crazy twist of fate, I went to a happy hour event for a friend a week or so before the girls were going to drive to Idaho.
I met a gal that just happened to own a winery. I told her about my dilemma of the wine race being cancelled and she said she would have no problem hosting us at her winery. I was so excited. I made some homemade medals for all the girls so when we completed our race everyone would still get a medal. We went to the Cold Springs Winery and were spoiled by Bing the owner at the time.
She gave us a tour and explained the planting and harvesting process, and it was so informative. We then took our wine glasses to the parking lot, held them proudly and ran about 50 feet from one car to another and we were done. The wine run was now complete. We had so much fun and laughed all afternoon. There was a total of six of us and after the run, or the so-called run, I congratulated the gals with their medals, and everyone was so thankful they went.
Meeting new and old souls was an experience that shows there are so many great people in the world, and I can’t wait for the next adventure!!
My lesson of hope: Never getting discouraged and letting the universe handle situations and difficult times will always pay off and a little wine never hurts.
