Tuesday November 13 – Day of Hope #71

Goal: Spend a whole day in a bath robe

McCall Mountain cabin stay with my gal pal Carolyn. We are celebrating our birthday in McCall, Idaho and are staying at a lodge called The Shore Lodge. We arrived and had lunch in one of their many restaurants. Then got a day pass to the Cove Spa. At lunch, we met a gal with the same birthday as us and we talked to her for a while. It was so amazing. At the spa they have two large immersion pools that are so great for your muscles. We hung out all afternoon in the pool’s steam room, sauna, and fire pit.

In the outside portion of the pool, it was 32° but if you're in the Hot Springs water, it feels amazing in the crisp mountain air. We had drinks and dinner served to us at poolside. Their Bloody Mary is amazing. We also met a guy at the spa with the same birthday as us. Crazy. That was two people now with the same birthday. Later, at the bar, he bought us a drink for our birthday. We also roasted marshmallows after dinner at a fire pit outside.

We walked around in our robes for several days. We met a great bartender that was going to move to Sun Valley to become a singer. We asked him to prove it and he sang us several songs for our birthday that he had written himself. That was amazing. Our spa appointments the next day started at 9:00 AM and went on until 4:30 PM. Massages, facials, nails, and pedicures. In between our appointments, we went back into the pools and had drinks and snacks and lunch. Oh my, we were so spoiled. Then we went out to dinner and then back to the room to watch a Hallmark movie. What an amazing day of relaxation and girl time. The room was a Lakeview room, and right on the water it was perfect weather and perfect company.

My lesson of hope: There is nothing better than that feeling of total relaxation and calm and knowing you took care of your soul one day at a time.
