Day of Hope #84
Friday December 13 – Day of Hope #84
Goal: Get away from home without leaving the city

I took the day off work, and it was Friday the 13th. I slept in, then packed a bag for the weekend. I went to a hotel for Friday and Saturday night by the Edward's 21 theaters in Boise, Idaho. On Friday afternoon from 3:00pm to 8:00pm, I had spa treatments booked at one of my favorite spas, Two Rivers. First up was a Hawaiian honey scrub wrap and steam room, then a massage, an hour facial, and wrapped things up with an hour and a half pedicure. I was so relaxed.
Then I had food to go at the Applebee's car side to go, and headed to my room, got into my pj’s, and watched a Lifetime movie, and went to bed. It was so nice. I slept incredibly well and was able to sleep until 10AM the next day. Then I went to breakfast with me, myself and I and back to the hotel for some journaling. I also attended a Boise State Basketball game and enjoyed the wonderful weekend staycation.
My lesson of hope: Sometimes you don’t need to travel far to enjoy some ‘me’ time. You can stay close to home and get just as much out of it.
Bonus
I also traveled to a new city during this month, and I got to spend time in Detroit, Michigan around Christmas time. Now Detroit has had not had the best reputation, but I thought it was awesome. I got to see so much, and everyone was nice and friendly, and we walked around downtown and had a great dinner and enjoyed lots of events. Everything was decorated for the holiday, and it was beautiful. It was a perfect time to visit, and my first impressions were great.
Then off to see a Michigan State basketball game.
