Day of Hope #83
Wednesday November 13 – Day of Hope #83
Goal: Release the red balloons
Quote: “Sometimes you just have to let it go. Life is a balance of holding on and letting go”. —Unknown
I spent the morning watching the movie, The Secret, then I created my vision board for 2020. My goal for the upcoming year was to feel good and my buzzwords were joy, self-care, relaxation, and purpose. It was a great healthy and happy year.
On my vision board for 2019, I had several pictures of red balloons. One picture was of a girl with a handful of red balloons, and she was letting them go up into the air. I read somewhere about letting things go and giving them over to the universe. It said to picture yourself putting your worries and problems in a basket that’s being carried off by balloons for the universe to handle. I felt I needed to do that.
On my Day of Hope, I asked my gal pal Idgie to help me. I had typed up my worries and stressors at the time on little pieces of paper and I got thirteen red balloons filled with helium. I tied the papers with all my worries to each balloon and we headed to my favorite park.
I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and let them all go. They slowly sailed up to the sky. I felt so light and free. We had two stragglers that did not go up as high as the others and we decided those might need a little nudging. The universe has them now, and I can move on with life, stress-free.
When I did this exercise, I did not realize that birds, turtles and other animals commonly mistake balloons for food, which can harm or even kill them. Instead use eco-friendly “confetti” like flower petals or dried leaves and put them in a stream or river to watch your worries float away. You could also throw it up in the air to release stress. Birdseed would be a great option too.
We then went to lunch, and she gave me thirteen lottery tickets for my birthday. We enjoyed scratching them and drinking margaritas.
Later that evening I went to my favorite French restaurant, Bacquet’s in Eagle, Idaho for dinner with my boyfriend. It was an amazing Day of Hope.
My lesson of hope: Worries and stressors will weigh us down if we let them. I want to live free and let the universe handle them for me.

Bucket List Item Completed
I completed one of my bucket list items this month. I could not do it on my Day of Hope, but I did accomplish it in November. I attended a Denver Bronco NFL football game. I finally got to see my favorite team play. I have wanted to see them since I was in High School. Better late than never. It was so much fun. There were four of us and we toured the campus and checked out the store to buy the local swag items in all things Bronco.
I don’t remember if they won, but I do remember how much fun we had and how I fulfilled another bucket list item.
