Goal: Frozen can be a good feeling
Quote: “Only an act of true love can thaw a frozen heart.” - Frozen
I worked in the morning then went to lunch to meet an old coworker. He was my former boss who worked at the company for 45 years and was retired. 45 years at one company is unheard of these days, so it was quite an accomplishment. He was missing work and they asked him if he wanted to come back, part time. He did and it made him feel needed, even for just a few hours each day. He was such a great boss and very intelligent. He was an amazing soul for sure, and I was very happy to spend my lunch hour visiting with him on my day of hope.
I then took the afternoon off to do something I love to do, by myself now. I went to the movie theater and saw the Disney movie Frozen. Princess Elsa possesses magical powers that allow her to control and create ice and snow. In the beginning her and her sister Anna would play and have fun with the snow. Then Anna accidentally gets struck by Elsa’s powers and they must go see the magical trolls to help her. To save Anna, the trolls must alter her memories, and Elsa has to stay away from everyone, and is confined to her room. Anna does not understand why her sister is so cold. Pardon the pun. Then their parents pass away, and Elsa becomes queen.
They open the castle again, and one thing leads to another, and Elsa tries to run away from her powers and feelings, and she deserts the town. Anna goes after her with the handsome Kristoff who sells ice, by her side. Then Ana gets struck again by Elsa’s Ice. Elsa ends up saving her sister’s life. They all realize that love will thaw a frozen heart. Isn’t that the case in life as well. Yes, I am a sucker for a great love story even if it’s animated. The main song from this movie will come into play later by surprise in a day of hope future episode #25. Look forward to that.
After the movie I took myself to dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant, Café Ole. I love their chips and salsa and margaritas of course, and they have a wonderful shrimp avocado salad I like. I know ordering a salad at a Mexican restaurant is odd, but oh it's sooooo good. I sit for hours and journal while eating and drinking, and it makes my heart smile and warms my tummy.
My lesson of hope: Love can come in all sorts of ways, especially in movies, you can’t run from your powers and gifts, you have to share them. Margaritas are helpful too.
