Goal: Family Fun Day

Today is all about spending time with family. I had cousins in town for a visit from northern Idaho. They are so much fun to hang out with and have three little girls that love to play. We laugh and laugh. So good for the soul.

We met at her sister’s house, and we spent most of the day just hanging out and playing with the kids, catching up on life, and enjoying good food and fun. Its loud and crazy but that’s how we like it. We don’t get to see them often as they are a little over four hours away but it’s always good to spend time with them when in town.

Speaking of in town, my sister Sally and her two girls were also in town for a visit from Utah. We have so much fun when they come to town. We ate great food and did lots of activities over the weekend. We booked a spa day for the afternoon for all of us girls. We also love to play games on the patio and enjoy a bonfire and have great quality family time. We play all kinds of games like Catch Phrase, Times Up, and many others. 

I got a special treat for my day of hope this visit as well. There are many family members that would agree with me that my sister Sally makes the best homemade salsa. This time she brought lots of fresh tomatoes, peppers, and other ingredients from my dad’s home garden with her, and it was amazing. She made me lots of salsa this time for me to eat. I ate every drop over the course of the following week. People at work were jealous. It smelled so good and tasted amazing. I could make it myself but it’s always so much better when she makes it for me.

My lesson of hope: Family is the best medicine for fun and laughter. I don’t get to see them often, so I make sure I am always present in the moment and enjoy each and every minute. Sally’s homemade salsa will make me smile every time.
