Goal: Plan a year my future self will love

Quote: “Love yourself. Be clear on how you want to be treated. Know your worth. Always.” – Maryam Hasnaa

Today I needed to work a half day as we have a board meeting next week for my office. I did, however, get off work around noon. I went to lunch with my good friend Mr. D at Applebee’s restaurant. We both like their steak salads and blood orange margaritas. Then I took my time and ran some errands to get ready for Christmas in a few weeks. Feels good to have all that done.

Once I got home, I settled in for an afternoon of watching the two movies I watch every year to get my creative juices flowing and create my vision board. The Secret, by Rhonda Bryne for visualization and channeling the universe and Eat Pray Love, by Elizabeth Gilbert. I have been collecting pictures and quotes for the last few months but today I will finish that process to see what else I will need then get it all put together.

Here are some of my goals for the upcoming 2018 year:

Journal more – get my life story out in the open. It really helps me process things and when I can read back through the journals it helps me to see how much I have grown.

Find $13,000 extra dollars in my bank account – I need this for editing and publishing my book.

Cut the chord with toxic people - this should be an interesting but a much-needed exercise and cultivate strong healthy relationships instead.  This will be a tough one and will take most of the year. It will be hard to let go of some family and friends, but they are hurting me more than they are helping me be my best self.

Celebrate others - I found some great rocks with the word Hope engraved on them. I plan to give them to thirteen people as encouragement.

Re-create a picture of joy - I found a picture of a girl jumping in the air with her hands spread wide with a red shirt and grey sweats and when I saw it, I felt freedom and joy, so I cut it out. I plan to find that outfit in January so I am ready when the opportunity arises so I can re-create it for myself.

Exercise - keep up my good work on my goal for doing thirteen half marathons before I am fifty as half marathons are 13.1 miles.

Healthy eating - I plan to master the brown bag lunch and try to take my lunch to work more instead of eating out. It will save money and be healthier as well.

Travel - I want to go back to Canada again to Lake Louise like I did on my Day of Hope #18.

There are so many other great items for the upcoming year. My angel card to work on for the coming year is Freedom. What a great card. Love it. It’s going to be an amazing year for sure. There will be some great stories to tell so stay tuned.

My lesson of hope: Planning for the upcoming year is fun and it’s energizing to dream. It’s great to do big items and simple things to help my future self to succeed and grow. I love my Day of Hope and planning all the items I want to do. I am creating a life I love and one that is not subject to what others create for me. It’s time to say goodbye to the old and bring in the new.
