Day of Hope #61
Saturday January 13 – Day of Hope #61
Goal: Just be relaxed and grateful
Quote: “Gratitude is the ‘Healthiest’ of all human emotions”. – Zig Ziglar
I started my Day of Hope a little early this month. On the twelfth I went to the spa for the afternoon. Massage, facial, nails and toes. On the thirteenth I slept in to recharge from a long work week. I did some serious thinking about the new business I want to create and how I am going to make it work. I did lots of research online and started a check list of things I need to think about and how to start to get them accomplished. I also dreamed about what it will be like when it’s a reality.
I then took a few hours to relax and enjoy the day. I made a list of all the things I am grateful for. I am grateful for my kids, granddaughter, and family. I am grateful for having a place to live. I am grateful to have a job (even though my job is very demanding) I am grateful that I am able to work. I am grateful for my body and that I can do the ½ marathons and 10K races I have committed to doing. I am also grateful I am alive and that I am staying healthy.
Then it was time for me to get showered and ready to go to dinner with the season ticket holder’s basketball group for Boise State University. We always have a great time hanging out before we go to the basketball game. Yahoooooo! When I am at the BSU basketball games I love it when the announcer says, “It’s Basketball time in Boise”, and the crowd goes wild!!! Tonight was a sold-out crowd! GO BSU!
It was a great day of relaxation, grateful thinking and dreaming about my future self and how amazing she is going to be.
My lesson of hope: Listing the things I am grateful for now, even the small things and realizing how fortunate I am, keeps me centered for the road ahead.
