Day of Hope #82

Sunday October 13 – Day of Hope #82

Goal: Remember where I have been, so I know where I am going

Quote: “Respect the past; you never know how it may affect you”. – Christopher Paolini

This one was a spread-out weekend of Hope. My boyfriend was out of town that weekend and his plane arrived later in the day on my Day of Hope. My weekend of Hope was about reflection and remembering where I started from, and how far I have come. I was reading through my old journals, and it was very eye opening. I have been through so much in my life and I have come so far. I have seen things and done things that no one should have to do. Life was not always easy, but now I am stronger, and I would like to think wiser in my half-century age.

Life is good and I feel so very blessed to be able to have had a fiftieth birthday celebration. There are a lot of people who don’t get the luxury of living to the age of fifty and beyond.  I went for a walk then back to my journals. I made a grilled Turkey sandwich with cheese, tomato, and bacon and a Starbucks half passion, half green tea. I also watched my favorite NFL football team, the Denver Broncos, play that afternoon. After the game I did more journal reading about my past.

My lesson of hope: Enjoy the little things, especially the free things in life. For me that is Greenbelt walking, Epsom salt baths, and just anything that brings me joy and peace every day. Get rid of everything else.
